REALTOR® Magazine 30 Under 30 Questions & Answers, by Kyle Malnati (Madison Commercial Properties) **

REALTOR® Magazine 30 Under 30 Question #8:What is your involvement in your local or state REALTOR® organizations?

Answer: In Denver, we are so fortunate to have a Commercial REALTOR® organization like DMCAR. I also am a member of NARs “Young Professionals Network” (YPN). I am currently working to create a liaison position for YPN at DMCAR. I valued having the REALTOR® distinction because of the high ethical standards and the Code of Ethics.  However, many of my colleagues in commercial real estate didn’t see the same value.  They felt that it wasn’t necessary to be a REALTOR® since they sold commercial property.  I completely disagree and I believe it is a disservice to their clients. I also was appointed and served for 2 years on a Board of Directors for a local charity effort comprised of DMCAR members. ~ Kyle Malnati, Madison Commercial Properties – Madison & Co. Properties

REALTOR® Magazine 30 Under 30 Question #9: If you were president of the National Association of REALTORS®, what changes would you try to implement in the real estate industry?

Answer: Since I am a commercial real estate specialist, I would try to involve the perspective of more commercial REALTOR®s in the overall process. I realize that commercial REALTOR®s are a smaller fraction of the total licensees nationally, but I believe that we can bring a different approach that may benefit the entire group.  A potential suggestion would be to have a President of NAR and co-Vice Presidents (one commercial and one residential).  As President, I would also place a higher emphasis on the Young Professionals Network.  I am already a member of YPN and believe that young, energetic REALTOR®s are the wave of the future. Recruitment is the life-blood of any organization; I would place a high emphasis on involving younger agents. ~ Kyle Malnati, Madison Commercial Properties – Madison & Co. Properties
