3/2/16: I’m excited to speak to 100 real estate professionals in Washington, DC. Brandon Green, a fellow “30 Under 30” honoree, is hosting today’s event with Koki Adasi, Anslie Stokes, and Bo Menkiti.
I have sat across the table, kneecap to kneecap, with literally thousands of real estate investors over my 12-year real estate career. I have gained a tremendous amount of wisdom from listening to each investor’s story.
“What advice would you give to your 22-year old self if you could go back in time?” That question settled on my mind so much that I asked 12 extremely successful real estate professionals across the country to answer it for US.
Our real estate podcast provides an opportunity to expand your knowledge, and its our goal to make real estate investing more approachable to everyone. Each episode we tap into the mindset of real estate experts and share their stories.
What books are national, award-winning real estate businessmen reading? Which book(s) would you add that we didn’t mention?
My brother, Billy, died four years ago today (5/16/2011). That year, 2011, was possibly the most difficult year of my life. I learned so much about myself that year. In the strangest contradiction I could imagine, I am so thankful that I LIVED through that painful year by moving forward with decisions despite the struggle I was experiencing. I chose to persevere.
I’ve written about how the death of my brother, Billy Malnati, has been an impact in my life. Initially, losing Billy felt like it could have a negative impact on my family, but I personally made a strong effort to turn my sorrow into joy. I understood that, despite the difficulties that I was going through, there were others that had it much worse than me. I chose to GIVE so that I would focus on others which led me stop feeling sorry for myself.
